Larsi is Open for Light and Passenger Transport
The Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Russia and Georgia is open for light passenger and passenger transportation in the Gudauri-Kobi section. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by Vahan Hakobyan, the customs attaché of the Armenian Embassy in Russia.
Previously, it was reported that the road leading from Russia to Georgia through the 'Upper Lars' checkpoint was closed to all types of vehicles. The closure was due to 'cold and black ice.'
The blocked section will allow previously parked trucks to finalize their documentation at the Upper Lars checkpoint, while other trucks heading to Georgia will not be allowed to cross the border until vehicle movement for trucks is restored on the Georgian side.
