CSTO Confirms New Structure of Joint Peacekeeping Forces Command; Armenia Will Not Participate in Meetings
The defense ministers of CSTO member countries have approved an initiative to improve the composition of the collective rapid reaction forces and special operations units of the association. This was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, published on Telegram.
“The new structure of the CSTO Joint Peacekeeping Forces Command has been confirmed, along with a list of training bases and centers allocated by CSTO member states to ensure the formation, preparation, and coordination of the CSTO collective peacekeeping forces,” the ministry wrote.
Additionally, proposals have been agreed upon to ensure communication within troop groups, as well as regarding the procedure for logistical transfers between military units.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Armenian Ministry of Defense spokesperson Aram Torosyan announced that Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan will not participate in the upcoming meetings in Minsk within the CSTO framework.
