Three Conscripts Refuse to Participate in Combat Operations, Prosecutor's Office
The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia reports:
1. A conscript from the Defense Ministry's N military unit, Private V.H., refused to carry out his duties of heading to the combat positions during the state of emergency declared by a government decision on October 21, 2020. On October 12, 2023, the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against V.H. under part 3 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code adopted on April 18, 2003 (refusal to perform military service duties during a state of emergency).
2. Conscripts from the Defense Ministry's N military unit, Privates A.P. and A.E., also refused to participate in combat operations on October 20, 2020, during the state of emergency declared by the government. On October 23, 2023, the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against A.E. and A.P. under part 3 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code adopted on April 18, 2003 (refusal to perform military service duties during a state of emergency). The prosecutor confirmed the indictment on October 17, 2023, and forwarded the case materials to the General Jurisdiction Court of the Syunik Province.
