It Is Time to Establish an Independent Palestinian State, Says Turkish Foreign Minister

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated today that the time has come for the international community to take serious actions towards the creation of an independent Palestinian state, based on the 1997 borders and with Jerusalem as its capital.

During a joint press conference with the Lebanese Foreign Minister, he compared Israel's actions near the Lebanese border to "pouring oil on fire." Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry declared that Ankara is ready to become a guarantor country for Palestine if a peace agreement is reached.
