Zahharova on the Normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave an interview to the Azerbaijani news agency "Trend," where she also addressed the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
Zakharova specifically stated, "The unblocking of transport communications in the South Caucasus is a key element in the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, which has been built on a series of trilateral agreements at the highest level during 2020-2022. This issue has been entrusted to the trilateral working group."
She added, "A general understanding has been reached regarding the implementation of concrete steps for the restoration and organization of railway communication along the Yeraskh-Julfa-Meghri-Horadiz route. In our work, we proceed from the necessity to uphold the principles of reciprocity and respect, as well as the sovereignty of both countries."
