The United States has sent a second aircraft carrier, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, to the Mediterranean Sea, according to the country's naval forces command.
The carrier strike group includes the USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) guided missile cruiser and two guided missile destroyers, the USS Gravely (DDG 107) and the USS Mason (DDG 87). The carrier has departed for the area of responsibility of the US European Command.

The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower will join the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier, which has been in international waters off the coast of Israel since October 11. Additionally, on October 14, F-15E Strike Eagle fighters arrived in the area of responsibilities of the US Central Command in the Middle East.
