Blinken on Azerbaijan's Possible Invasion of Armenia in Coming Weeks: Politico
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has told a group of American lawmakers that Azerbaijan may invade Armenia in the coming weeks. This is reported by the Politico newspaper, citing its anonymous sources.
The article states that in connection with this, the State Department may reconsider its long-term approach to providing military assistance to Azerbaijan. During a conversation that took place on October 3 between lawmakers and Blinken, the legislators pressured the Secretary of State regarding potential sanctions against Baku.
It is worth noting that on October 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia was ready to support the resumption of negotiations between Baku and Yerevan, which Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are aware of. The Russian President emphasized that, in his opinion, there should not be any issues related to this at present.
