Will an Unprecedented Decision Be Made Regarding Levon Kocharyan?
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that there are discussions within the judicial system suggesting that Judge Mher Argyamanyan of the Court of Appeals is displeased with the political authorities. This discontent stems from the dismissal of his son, Judge Davit Argyamanyan, from the judicial system. As a result, it is speculated that Judge Argyamanyan could make an unpredictable decision regarding Levon Kocharyan, the son of Robert Kocharyan.
Specifically, according to rumors circulating in the judicial system, there is a possibility that he might overturn the decision of the lower court or apply house arrest or bail for Levon Kocharyan.
It is noteworthy that Levon Kocharyan was apprehended during a protest in Republic Square, where he faced violence before being transferred to a hospital and subsequently arrested. Lawyer Alexander Kochubaev reported that police have stated that L. Kocharyan assaulted four Red Berets.
Levon Kocharyan was detained for one month on September 25, and his defenders appealed to the Court of Appeals, where the case was assigned to Judge Mher Argyamanyan, widely believed to make decisions in favor of the authorities.
It should be mentioned that Judge Argyamanyan's son, Davit Argyamanyan, was seen pounding a drum during Nikol Pashinyan's pre-election march in Yerevan on November 24, 2018. Following this, he was appointed as an assistant to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, and in 2021, he was appointed as a judge in the court notorious for issuing arrest orders. This court was subsequently dissolved, and its judges were removed from the system.
