Displaced Citizens from Artsakh Can Apply for One-Time Payment of 100,000 Dram in Two Days, Says Deputy Prime Minister

Displaced citizens from Artsakh will be able to apply for a one-time payment of 100,000 dram in two days. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan during a briefing at the humanitarian center.

The Armenian government has decided to allocate a preliminary 10 billion dram in the 2024 state budget for those forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

“The registration will take place outside of Yerevan, through the unified social services operating in all regional administrations and major community offices. On Monday (October 2), we will publish the regulations, and starting Tuesday (October 3), the displaced individuals will have the opportunity to apply. In the case of minors, parents can indicate which bank account they would like the funds to be transferred to,” Khachatryan noted.

According to him, for individuals who have bank accounts or cards, this process will be relatively quick, while those who do not possess them will require a few additional days.

The Deputy Prime Minister also addressed the housing rental process for the displaced persons from Artsakh and emphasized that the Armenian government will impose no geographical restrictions on this program. Initially, the focus was set on the Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Gegharkunik regions, but later it was decided to extend the program throughout the republic, including Yerevan.

It has been previously reported that each displaced person from Artsakh will be granted at least 40,000 dram for living expenses for a minimum of six months. Khachatryan mentioned that in addition to this amount, each individual from Artsakh will also receive an additional 10,000 dram for utility expenses.

Recall that Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against Artsakh on September 19. As a result of Azerbaijani aggression, Artsakh suffered at least 200 casualties and more than 400 injuries in just one day.
