Efforts to Change Place Names: New Aliyev-Named Fountains and Parks Emerged in Yerevan, Says Samvel Martirosyan

Fellow countrymen, neighbors' social media groups have launched a mass assault on maps, including Google and Yandex. This was reported by media expert Samvel Martirosyan.

“They are trying to change place names. This is based on the fact that a very large number of similar suggestions lead to a specific name change or the emergence of a new place. For instance, in Yerevan, there are now fountains and parks named after Aliyev, and so on. What to do?

• a. Those who know how to edit maps should propose corrections to the correct names.
• b. Those who do not know how to edit should not panic. And they should warn those from point ‘a’,” he wrote.
