Various Scenarios Being Discussed, Including Resettlement of Armenians from Artsakh in Armenia: Migration Service
The Migration and Citizenship Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs has denied rumors that Armenia is not planning to accept Armenians from Artsakh.
Press Secretary Nelly Davtyan informed Tert.am that no Armenians from Artsakh have been relocated to Armenia at this time and that there is no question of their acceptance or non-acceptance. Moreover, she reported that active interdepartmental discussions are underway regarding the possible organization of the entry of Artsakh residents into Armenia.
“Active discussions are taking place with various responsible agencies, and different scenarios are being considered, including the resettlement of Armenians from Artsakh in Armenia,” she noted.
It is noteworthy that the Human Rights Defender of Nagorno-Karabakh, Gegham Stepanyan, has reported that more than 7,000 people have been evacuated from 16 civilian communities in the Askeran, Martakert, Martuni, and Shushi regions.
Additionally, images have circulated among Facebook users showing that some Armenians from Artsakh have embarked on a journey to the airport, heading to the location of the Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh, hoping to receive support from them. Later, the city hall of Stepanakert issued a statement indicating that at this time, there is no need for movement, and safety regulations should be observed while remaining in shelters.
