The U.S. Calls on Azerbaijan to Immediately Halt Military Operations in Nagorno-Karabakh
The United States is deeply concerned about Azerbaijan's military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh and is calling on Azerbaijan to immediately cease these actions. This was stated in a statement by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“These actions are worsening an already dire humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and disrupting the prospects for peace. As we have previously made clear to Azerbaijan, the use of force is unacceptable for resolving disputes and contradicts efforts to create conditions for a just and dignified peace in the region. We urge an immediate halt to military operations and the commencement of respectful dialogue between representatives of Baku and the population of Nagorno-Karabakh,” the statement reads.
