Papikyan Found Time for Campaign but Not to Meet with Parents of the Missing
On October 21, 2020, the parents of servicemen who participated in combat operations from the "Chemists" military unit in Ejmiatsin and have been considered missing since then are waiting for a meeting with Defense Minister Suren Papikyan.
The parents of the missing servicemen told Oragir.News that they expressed their desire to meet with Papikyan about a week ago, but were denied, being told the minister was busy. "On September 12, we called the Ministry of Defense and said we wanted to meet with Papikyan, but we were informed that the minister was busy and that they would organize a meeting in the near future. It is unfortunate that Papikyan found time to participate in the Yerevan city council elections campaign, but not for the parents of the missing servicemen. We hope that at least now, after the elections, Papikyan will be gracious enough to meet with us," they stated.
It should be noted that after several days of protests in front of the Ministry of Defense, the parents of missing servicemen eventually met with Suren Papikyan on September 1, who promised to meet with them in separate groups.
