Anti-Government Rally Held in Prague
On the afternoon of September 16, the first rally against the government’s policies resumed in the center of Prague, in Wenceslas Square, after the summer break. This was reported by the local ČTK agency.
According to media reports, the organizers of the event have changed the motto of the rally compared to their spring actions; instead of “Czechia Against Poverty,” it is now stated as “Czechia Against the Government.”
The main organizer of the rally, Jindřich Reichl, the leader of an extra-parliamentary party, called on protesters to express their dissatisfaction with the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers. Among the reasons for dissatisfaction, the activist mentioned economic reforms.
The organizers announced that up to 100,000 people might participate in the rally. In the spring, around ten thousand people attended the anti-government demonstration.
