Moldovan Ministry of Energy Estimates Debt to Gazprom at $709 Million
The head of the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, Victor Parlikov, has announced that the debt of Moldovagaz to Gazprom has amounted to $709 million as of the end of March 2022. He made this statement based on the results of an audit conducted by the Moldovan side. His comments were cited by RIA Novosti.
“Moldovagaz's debt to Gazprom totaled $709 million by the end of March 2022,” said Parlikov.
Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu stated that an international auditing company hired by the Moldovan government had not disclosed the republic's debt to Gazprom, estimated at $800 million.
In July, the Minister of Energy of Moldova mentioned that Chisinau has fulfilled the agreement regarding the audit of Moldovagaz's debt to Gazprom, but the results would not be published immediately and would first be analyzed.
