Almost 70% of Peace Agreement Ready, Says Hajiyev
Hikmet Hajiyev, an advisor to the President of Azerbaijan, gave an extensive interview to Arab News addressing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the peace process, negotiations, and the current situation.
Hajiyev particularly stated, "Azerbaijan genuinely wants to sign a peace agreement and turn the page on confrontation in the region. We would like to live in peace. But the ball is in Armenia's court. The sooner they understand this reality, the better it will be for everyone.
We have made significant progress. Almost 70% of the document is ready and largely agreed upon. Signing the peace agreement will entirely change the landscape of the South Caucasus region. However, the Prime Minister of Armenia, while recognizing Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, continues to maintain Armenian armed forces in our territory. He continues to finance the illegal regime operating in our territory,” Hajiyev announced.
