We deeply respect Pashinyan, but we cannot agree with his theses. Peskov
The press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, has commented on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's interview with the Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica'. He noted that Russia values its constructively cooperative relations with Armenia but cannot agree with Pashinyan's theses regarding the failure of the Russian peacekeepers' mission.
"We deeply respect Prime Minister Pashinyan, we appreciate his and President Putin's working and very constructive relationship, and we hope that these relations will continue to guarantee close cooperation between the two countries. However, we cannot agree with the Prime Minister's theses. Russia is an absolutely inseparable part of this region, and therefore it cannot go anywhere. Russia cannot leave Armenia," Peskov stated.
Earlier, Pashinyan had given an interview to the Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica', where he notably stated that one day we might wake up and see that Russia has left the South Caucasus.
