The West is not Planning to Overthrow Putin's Regime, Olaf Scholz
The West is not going to make efforts to change the political regime in Russia, but Vladimir Putin is convinced that Western countries have such intentions. This statement was made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as quoted by Deutsche Welle.
“We do not decide who sits where. We also do not plan to change the regime in Russia,” said Scholz.
According to the German Chancellor, however, the Russian president is concerned that this is indeed the West's plan. “Putin must come to terms with the idea that the European Union, as a community of open societies and liberal democracies, is right next to him, and somehow hope that freedom is not a contagion,” Scholz concluded.
