Spanish Chargé d'Affaires Summoned by Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Over Post on Artsakh
The Chargé d'Affaires of Spain in Azerbaijan, Patricia Serrano Sánchez, has been summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan following a post on social media regarding cooperation between the European Union and the Kingdom of Spain in support of Artsakh.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the post on the social media account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, which advocates for the "illegal separatist regime established by Armenia in Azerbaijan's sovereign territory," is "unacceptable and puzzling." It was pointed out that such actions from a country like Spain, which fights against separatism within its own territory, are particularly concerning.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also stated that this unconstructive approach does not align with the spirit of Azerbaijani-Spanish relations, which the Azerbaijani side "strongly condemns."
