This fictional film about the famous doll has officially made Greta Gerwig the first woman in history whose directed film has achieved such success at the global box office.

Moreover, "Barbie" has also set a record for domestic box office earnings among films made by female directors, with Greta Gerwig's film collecting over $460 million. The previous record was held by Anna Boden, who co-directed "Captain Marvel" with Ryan Fleck, which grossed $426 million in domestic box office.

The premiere of the "Barbie" film took place on July 21, 2023. The lead roles are played by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
