ICRC Representatives Have Not Yet Met with Rashid Beglaryan Arrested by Azerbaijan: Zara Amatuni
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) representatives have not yet met with Rashid Beglaryan, who was arrested by Azerbaijan. Zara Amatuni, the head of communication programs for the ICRC delegation in Armenia, stated in an interview with Armenpress that they are aware of the situation and are taking relevant steps within their mandate to ensure progress through dialogue.
Amatuni noted that the ICRC representatives visited Vagif Khachatryan, who was also arrested by Azerbaijani border guards, on the same day of his arrest, in the evening of July 29. “Our delegates, including our doctor, met with Vagif Khachatryan in Baku according to our procedures, to gather information about his condition, check his health status, and familiarize themselves with the conditions of detention,” Amatuni said.
