Decision on David Tonoyan's Permission to Enter the National Assembly to be Announced Today

'Jiravoghout' newspaper reports that yesterday in the Anti-Corruption Court, the request of former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan was discussed regarding his appearance before the National Assembly's investigative committee.

Details from that closed session have become known to 'Jiravoghout'. Specifically, we learned that Tonoyan personally submitted the request to the court and requested to be allowed to leave the NSS detention without handcuffs or escort, a procedure typically applied for short visits.

Judge Vahe Dolmazyan stated that there is no specific procedure for allowing a detainee to appear before the National Assembly's investigative committee. Nevertheless, the Anti-Corruption Court will today announce its decision regarding the former minister's permission to enter the National Assembly.

It is worth reminding that 'Jiravoghout' had previously reported that the Anti-Corruption Court will likely permit former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan to leave the NSS detention center and go to the National Assembly's investigative committee to share what he has seen and heard.

The matter is that political authorities have explained to the court that the investigative committee is examining issues of paramount importance to the state, and even though there is no precedent, Tonoyan's statements could be subject to further investigation, making his presence at the committee highly necessary.
