Turkey's Parliament to Discuss Sweden's NATO Membership Application in October: Erdogan
Turkey's Parliament may consider ratifying Sweden's application for NATO membership in October. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"Reciprocal steps related to Sweden's membership process in the alliance have been defined in a joint statement. We have made the necessary warnings to Sweden. We will contribute to this with the opening of Parliament. The final decision is made by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey," Erdogan stated, as reported by the local Habertürk newspaper.
Turkey's Parliament went on vacation on July 16 and will return to work on October 1.
