Peskov: Poland's Aggressiveness Demands More Vigilance from Russia and Belarus
Poland's aggressiveness serves as a reason for Russia and Belarus to be more attentive to security matters, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, as reported by TASS.
“Poland's aggressiveness and its hostile attitude towards both Belarus and the Russian Federation, of course, is a reason to be more vigilant,” Peskov told journalists, commenting on reports of Poland sending military brigades to its eastern borders.
Peskov noted that these actions by Poland are causing “concern.”
The Kremlin representative informed that Moscow and Minsk are working on a security concept for the Union State.
In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned the preparation of such a document. According to him, the concept aims to reflect the fundamental issues of cooperation between Moscow and Minsk amid rising tensions at their external borders and the sanctions and information war unleashed against them.
Peskov indicated that the previous outlines of the security concept are no longer valid and have become outdated due to the dramatically changed environment and the emergence of new threats.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that the adoption of the security concept for the Union State would contribute to the further strengthening of mutual guarantees between the two countries in this area.
