Ukraine Will Not Cede Its Territories for Status: Zelensky
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that Ukraine does not plan to exchange any of its territories for any status, as reported by UNIAN. He made these remarks during a press briefing regarding the outcomes of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
This comment comes in response to media reports suggesting that Germany and the USA insisted that specific timelines for Ukraine's NATO membership not be included in the communiqué.
“I am confident that there will be no treacherous positions from Scholz and Biden. But at the same time, I must say that we will never exchange any of our territories for any status, even if it is just one village where one grandfather lives,” the president said.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will not give up its territories and will never exchange them for any frozen conflict. “That will never happen; my position is well known to our partners,” he stressed.
