OPEC Offers Azerbaijan Permanent Membership in the Organization
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has offered Azerbaijan the opportunity to become a permanent member of the organization, as stated by OPEC's Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais to Interfax.
He did not disclose what response Azerbaijan, a member of the OPEC+ coalition, had provided. “Sometimes such questions arise, but currently we are not discussing this,” Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov told reporters later.
Shahbazov is currently participating in a seminar organized by OPEC, which has called for an increase in the number of OPEC+ members.
