Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to Pashinyan's Statements
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to the statements made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during today’s government meeting.
“We categorically reject the views expressed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the government meeting on June 29, claiming that Azerbaijan is escalating the situation in the region, conducting a policy of 'ethnic cleansing' against Armenian residents, and keeping the region 'under blockade',” said Baku.
Baku also noted that the Armenian side is ‘interfering’ with the negotiations for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The fact that an Azerbaijani soldier was injured on June 27 as a result of provocations by the Armenian armed forces, which, despite Armenia's commitments, have not yet been fully withdrawn from Azerbaijani territory, not only deliberately escalates the situation in the region but also attempts to interfere with the ongoing negotiations between the foreign ministers in the United States,” the statement read.
