China Assures No Lethal Aid to Russia, Says Blinken
Chinese authorities have assured the United States that they are not providing lethal aid to Russia for use in Ukraine. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken at a press conference following his visit to Beijing.
Blinken noted that Washington has not observed evidence to the contrary. “We and other countries have received assurances from China that it is not providing lethal assistance to Russia for use in Ukraine. We appreciate that and have not seen evidence that contradicts this,” he said.
According to the Secretary of State, the United States continues to be concerned that Chinese companies may provide technology to Russia that it could use in military conflict. He emphasized that the U.S. has asked China to be very cautious on this matter.
