Putin Said Azerbaijan Is Ready to Stop the War in Exchange for All Seven Regions, Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of Armenia participated in the meeting of the investigative committee aimed at examining the circumstances of the military operations unleashed on September 27, 2020.
"In conjunction with the failure of the latest ceasefire announcement, I returned on October 16 for a conversation with Putin. On the afternoon of October 19, I had a phone call with him, during which the Russian president mentioned that a plan developed years ago could be used to attempt to stop the war. The condition was as follows: the seven regions would be returned in a 5+2 format, the issue of the Lachin corridor connection would be resolved, Russian peacekeepers would be deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the status of Nagorno-Karabakh would remain indeterminate for the future. We agreed that I would express my position by the evening. During the day, I summoned extra-parliamentary forces, and later convened a meeting of the Security Council.
In the evening, I called Putin and told him I was ready to stop the war on such conditions, and he said he would talk to Aliyev. At that moment, out of the five contested regions, two were mostly under Azerbaijan's control.
