Romania's Foreign Ministry Demands Expulsion of Russian Diplomats; Russia Promises Response
Romania's Foreign Ministry has demanded that more than 50 employees of the Russian embassy leave the country within 30 days. The corresponding announcement was published on the ministry's website.
According to the Romanian Foreign Ministry's statement, the country's authorities decided that Russia must reduce the number of its diplomatic staff in Romania by 51. This includes 21 diplomatic positions and 30 technical and administrative staff positions.
It is noted that Russian diplomats must depart from Romania within 30 days. Bucharest highlighted that this move aims to equalize the number of Romanian representatives in Russia and Russians in Romania.
