Iran's Foreign Ministry Condemns Western Statements
The official spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, has condemned the statements made by several Western countries regarding the presentation of the 'Fattah' hypersonic missile. He emphasized that their missile activities are defensive in nature and legal under international law. This information was reported by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry's spokesman added that the countries expressing these views ‘have a long history of violating their international agreements in various fields, including nuclear tests, the non-proliferation of nuclear missiles, and regional and international issues, therefore they have no right to talk about Iran's legitimate (developing) defensive capabilities.’
According to Fars News Agency, the 'Fattah' hypersonic missile, presented yesterday, has a range of 1,400 kilometers and can evade all missile defense systems and destroy them.
Iranian media reported that the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of Iran's armed forces) unveiled the new 'Fattah' hypersonic missile yesterday. The United States announced sanctions against several individuals and organizations in Iran, China, and Hong Kong, accusing them of supporting Iran's ballistic missile development program.
The UK's Foreign Office published a statement on its website criticizing Iran for its 'continued disregard for international restrictions.' Meanwhile, France's Foreign Ministry referred to the missile's development as ‘another violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231.’
