I Urge Azerbaijan to Immediately Open the Lachin Corridor: German Official

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany, Michael Roth, has urged Azerbaijan to respect the ruling of the International Court of Justice and to immediately open the Lachin Corridor. The high-ranking German official made this statement during a conversation with journalists.

“I urge all responsible political figures in Azerbaijan to respect the international court's ruling and to immediately open the Lachin Corridor,” said the parliament member. He also noted that during his visit to Armenia, he met with women displaced from Artsakh.

According to the official, Germany views the situation where family members can be separated for long periods as a gross violation of human rights. “Ethnic cleansing must never be allowed to occur in Nagorno-Karabakh,” he emphasized.
