Peskov on the Attack on the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station
The attack on the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station is linked to the lack of success of Ukrainian forces during their offensive. This was stated by the spokesperson for the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“Based on all this, it can be said that this diversion is related to the large-scale offensive operations that began two days ago. Now, the Ukrainian armed forces are unable to achieve their objectives,” he said.
It is noteworthy that today, June 6, the dam of the Kakhovka hydropower station in the Kherson region collapsed. The water from the damaged hydropower plant has flooded residential areas of the Kherson region. Due to the damage to the hydropower station, the water level of the Dnieper River has risen. Footage purportedly taken in the Ostry area of Kherson shows ducks strolling through the streets.
