Azerbaijani Authorities Close Iranian Cultural Representation in Baku
The Azerbaijani authorities have closed the Iranian cultural representation in Baku. Official Baku has not provided any reasons for this action. This has been reported by Turan.
Tehran views the Azerbaijani step as "unilateral and hasty," according to an anonymous official from the Iranian foreign ministry who spoke to IRNA.
The Iranian official noted that "the issue could have been resolved through dialogue." In the context of the tense Iran-Azerbaijan relations, hundreds of individuals have been arrested in Azerbaijan in recent months on suspicion of espionage for Iran. Subsequently, they have faced drug-related charges.
