Élysée Palace on the Results of the Five-Party Meeting
The Élysée Palace has issued a statement regarding the outcomes of the five-party meeting attended by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, and the European Council in Chișinău.
"Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held negotiations within the framework of the second summit of the European Community in Chișinău with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and European Council President Charles Michel. They reaffirmed their commitments regarding the maintenance of the boundaries established in the Prague Declaration of October 6, 2022. They reconfirmed mutual respect for the territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The European leaders called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to adhere to all the commitments they have undertaken, especially regarding the prompt release of prisoners of war. They also emphasized the significance of the EU monitoring mission in favor of Armenia. The parties also highlighted the importance of implementing guarantees for the rights and security of the ethnic Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.
President Macron specifically noted the importance of refraining from any hostile rhetoric and continuing efforts towards the restoration of peace for the benefit of all the region's inhabitants.
