Former Health Minister and ruling party MP Arsen Torosyan has stated that there is an "epidemic" of organizing open door days in hospitals.

He noted that before 2018, such events were typically held during election periods. “But it’s strange to me that advertisements for gallbladder surgeries can be placed on the Ministry of Health's page in regional hospitals, even if our colleagues from abroad sponsor them,” he remarked.

According to Torosyan, it would be much more appropriate to focus on training programs for specialists.

In response to this comment, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan mentioned that the example cited was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Spanish Medical Association. “Such professional visits are aimed at sharing new patient management techniques,” she stated.

According to her, it is essential to ensure that the cooperation of regional medical centers with other healthcare facilities is within the framework of law, ethics, and the development of the regional healthcare system.
