China Urges EU Countries to Agree on Handing Over Occupied Ukrainian Territories to Russia
The Chinese delegation, led by China's special representative Li Hui, has sought to persuade European leaders to maintain neutrality regarding Russia's war against Ukraine, advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities and an agreement to hand over territories already occupied by Russia. This information was reported by The Insider, citing sources from the Wall Street Journal within the EU leadership.
Additionally, Li Hui suggested that Europe consider China as an alternative center of power to the United States. According to WSJ interlocutors, European state authorities are not inclined to fully reject China's peacekeeping efforts; however, they believe that peace is unattainable as long as Russian troops remain on Ukrainian territory.
