Iran Continues to Be Russia's Main Military Supporter, Says U.S. State Department Spokesman
The spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Vedant Patel, has stated to reporters that Russia and Iran are expanding their military cooperation.
According to him, Iran "continues to be Russia's main military supporter, and Iran has already provided artillery and tank shells to Russia for use in Ukraine."
Patel noted that since August, Iran has supplied Russia with more than 400 drones, mainly of the "Shahed" type, and Russia has utilized most of these drones to strike critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
"This deepening of cooperation poses a threat and risk not only to Ukraine but also to Russia's neighbors, Iran's neighbors, and the international community at large," the State Department spokesman emphasized.
