Kılıçdaroğlu Leads: Turkey's Opposition Reveals Its Calculations

In the presidential elections held on Sunday in Turkey, the current president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is gathering 46.8% of the votes, while opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is leading with 47.42%. This was announced by Ankara's opposition mayor Mansur Yavaş during a joint statement with his Istanbul counterpart Ekrem İmamoğlu, which was streamed live on Twitter.

“We have clean data from 91,913 (out of 192,000 - noted by TASS) ballot boxes. Kılıçdaroğlu has 11.4 million votes or 47.42 percent; Erdoğan has 11.27 million votes or 46.8 percent. The results from Ankara, Istanbul, and İzmir districts have not yet been fully counted. I believe everything will be concluded in the first round,” Yavaş stated.

According to the data from Turkey's Supreme Election Council, after processing results from 2/3 of the ballot boxes, Erdoğan is receiving 51.23% of the votes, while Kılıçdaroğlu has 43.05%.
