More detainees expected to be released in the coming weeks
There is an understanding on humanitarian issues that more detainees will be released in the coming weeks. This was stated by Charles Michel, President of the European Council, following a trilateral meeting in Brussels with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, addressing the issues of prisoners and detained individuals.
"I also emphasized the need to protect the understanding that those soldiers who have simply lost their way and crossed over to the other side will continue to be released through an expedited process. We have also discussed the importance of activating work on the fates of those missing and on demining efforts," he said.
Earlier, it was reported that following the trilateral meeting, the President of the European Council held a press conference where he stated that the parties have decided that the next step will be the delimitation of borders according to the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991.
