Russian Hackers Selling Classified Data Dangerous to U.S. Defense
Numerous groups have been identified selling American classified documents, including defense and financial information, on Telegram. According to Financial Times reporters, many of these groups are linked to Russian hackers.
The newspaper conducted its own investigation and discovered multiple groups on Telegram where hackers are selling tens of thousands of classified data, some of which pose direct threats to U.S. defense.
“Even old classified documents have operational value. They show how we approach problems, how we assess threats, and how we train people,” notes FT.
At the same time, some hackers have told reporters that these groups are just the tip of the iceberg. One hacker demonstrated to reporters industrial process testing data characterized as the production of alloys used to reinforce the armor of U.S. infantry combat vehicles. In another channel, a reporter was able to acquire a list of individuals who are banned from flying to the U.S., from or within the country.
