Yerevan Deserves to Host the Weightlifting World Championship, Says Araik Harutyunyan

The Head of the Armenian Prime Minister's Office and Chairman of the Inter-Agency Commission for the Preparation and Organization of the 2023 European Weightlifting Championship, Araik Harutyunyan, stated on his Facebook page: "Today at the Karen Demirchian Sports and Concert Complex, we will experience the day with the highest attendance in the history of the European Weightlifting Championships, with 4,400 spectators. Currently, only 40 tickets remain on sale, which I am confident will be sold out in a short time.

What I mean is that this is a very important indicator. It shows that the championship has been successful; we have managed to reach every fan and prove its significance. The global weightlifting community has seen that Armenia is a weightlifting nation, producing champions and having an army of hundreds of thousands of fans. Most importantly, Yerevan deserves to host the Weightlifting World Championship."

It should be noted that today marks the final day of the European Weightlifting Championships taking place in Yerevan.
