We Are Ready to Ensure the Safety of Azerbaijani Athletes: Araik Harutyunyan

The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Araik Harutyunyan, has stated that they are prepared to ensure the safety of both other athletes and Azerbaijani athletes during the European Weightlifting Championship. “When we submitted the application, we mentioned that we would accept athletes from all countries and ensure their safety. During this period, we have had specific correspondence, and we discussed issues related to the Azerbaijani team through the mediation of the European Federation. They requested additional safety measures, and we have provided that as well,” Harutyunyan said, adding that all necessary measures have been implemented.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan has announced it will participate in the European Weightlifting Championship held in Yerevan, subject to additional security guarantees.
