Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine Reports An Incident

The Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) informs that there were emergency power outages throughout the Syunik region last night.

As a result of the unprecedented coverage power outage, the work of the enrichment factory was disrupted, including the regulated flow of production wastewater via the tailings pipeline. Consequently, a leak occurred, which spilled into the community of Kajaran and onto the M2 highway section between Kajaran and Meghri.

Thanks to the operational efforts of the company's personnel, the leak was stopped within 15-20 minutes, followed by road cleaning operations, which are still ongoing today.

The company has duly informed the Syunik branch of the Republic of Armenia's Subsoil and Environmental Inspection Body regarding the incident.
