Lisagor Residents Deprived of Drinking Water Due to Blockade
Due to Azerbaijan's complete blockade of Artsakh, the road connection of the Lisagor community in the Shushi region with the capital Stepanakert has been cut off, preventing specialists from the 'Water Supply' Ltd. company from addressing the irrigation and drinking water issues in the village.
In an interview with an Artsakhpress correspondent, the head of the Lisagor community, Gagik Nasibyan, noted that extensive work had been carried out towards the supply of irrigation and drinking water before the road was closed by the Azerbaijanis, but since those efforts were not completed, the water issue remains a priority at this time.
“It is more serious than the village being under the enemy's control, because people manage to survive by cultivating their land. The homestead plots are being cultivated, but there is no water to irrigate them. We have already managed to sow some crops. Work is still ongoing in the village, although there are concerns among the residents,” said G. Nasibyan.
