Medvedev Threatens Missile Strike on the Hague Court
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has commented on the International Criminal Court's decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
In his opinion, the ICC's decision will lead to 'monstrous consequences for international law.' 'They have decided to judge the president of a nuclear superpower, who is not a participant in the ICC, on the same grounds as the USA and other countries. It is clear that there is no practical value, but thank you for reminding us. However, the consequences for international law will be monstrous. After all, this is a collapse of foundations and principles of law. A grim decline of the entire system of international relations is to be expected. Trust has been exhausted,' wrote Medvedev.
He reminded that the ICC's almost zero authority was already 'killed' when the court was unable to investigate the crimes of the USA in Afghanistan and Iraq.
In his view, 'the ICC judges are getting excited for nothing' by raising their hand against a 'nuclear superpower.' 'Alas, gentlemen, everyone walks under God and missiles. It is entirely possible to imagine the targeted use of a hypersonic Onyx missile from a Russian ship in the North Sea on the Hague court. It cannot be shot down, unfortunately. And the court is just a miserable international organization, not the population of NATO countries, hence they will not start a war, they will be afraid, and no one will regret it,' the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council noted, urging the judges to 'be cautious' and look to the sky.
