Unacceptable for Azerbaijan: Response to Pashinyan's Statements
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs finds attempts by the Prime Minister of Armenia to interfere in the Baku-Stepanakert dialogue unacceptable. This was stated by the spokesperson for the ministry, Aykhan Hajizade.
In response to statements made by the Armenian Prime Minister the previous day, the Azerbaijani official reiterated that discussions on the reintegration of the Armenian population are an internal affair of Azerbaijan. “Foreign states cannot play any role in this matter,” Hajizade added.
The spokesperson for Azerbaijan's foreign ministry further insisted, “The Prime Minister of Armenia must understand that the rights of the population of Armenian descent in the Nagorno-Karabakh region can never be above the rights of the Azerbaijani population of the region.”
