On Friday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck Turkey. This information was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre. There are no reports of destruction or casualties.
According to seismologists, the epicenter of the quake was located eight kilometers southwest of the city of Kayseri, which has a population of approximately 592,000 people. The focus of the earthquake was five kilometers deep.
On February 6, a devastating and deadly earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred in southeastern Turkey. As President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted, it was the strongest earthquake in the country since 1939. On February 12, Roscosmos published an image depicting the tectonic fracture caused by the tremors in Turkey. The death toll from the earthquake in Turkey has surpassed 46,000.
