Russia Ready to Organize, But We Won’t Insist Much: Lavrov's Offer to Armenia and Azerbaijan
Russia is ready to actively engage in the post-war reconstruction of Azerbaijani territories. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference in Baku, addressing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Lavrov also declared, “Russia is prepared to organize negotiations on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but we won’t insist much.”
“We have confirmed our willingness to create opportunities for continuing such meetings,” Lavrov stated, commenting on the question of a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the peace treaty.
The minister added that the Azerbaijani side is ready for this, and the Armenian side has also stated that it does not object, but has not yet given final approval.
“I don’t think we will stubbornly offer our services, but both sides are well aware of them,” Lavrov added.
