Recent Events Further Strain Already Complex Relations: Iran's Ambassador Summoned by Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry
On January 27, Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Seyid Abbas Mousavi, was summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran. This information was reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to the APA agency.
Azerbaijan strongly condemned the armed attack on its embassy in Tehran, labeling it a terrorist act and emphasizing the unacceptability of such attacks on diplomatic missions.
The Iranian authorities have been called upon to immediately hold accountable those responsible for the act of terrorism, conduct a thorough investigation into the terrorism, and identify and punish other individuals involved in organizing and perpetrating the crime.
The Azerbaijani side also addressed the recent anti-Azerbaijani campaigns planned in Iran and expressed their regret regarding this matter. They noted that these events have further strained the already complex relations.
The Iranian ambassador emphasized that Iran's relevant authorities promptly responded to the incident, and this issue is being investigated by the appropriate law enforcement agencies, with detailed information to be released upon the conclusion of the investigation.
